Rules in existence. However. as per O.M. ABP.06/2016/04 dt. 03/03/2016, the Govt. have decided to revise the upper age limit for entry into government services by five years from the existing 38 years. The candidates of SC/ ST and all other categories who have already been enjoying relaxation in upper age limit, may be add the five years to their existing relaxed upper age limits. This relaxation of upper age limit for entry into government service shall be applicable only to those candidates who have attained the necessary educational and other qualifications prior to crossing of their existing upper age limit of 38 years.
3. The candidates who have no BPL certificate must submit Treasury Challan of Rs. 250/- belonging to General category and Rs. 150/-belonging to SC, ST and OBC category. The amount of fee will have to be deposited in the Head of Account -0070 other Administrative Services”. Candidates having BPL certificate and candidates having caste certificate of SC. ST and OBC category must submit copy of respective certificate attesting by self with his application.

Service Commission invites application from Indian Citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India for the under-mentioned posts under Assam Government in the scale of pay as indicated below and carrying usual allowances as admissible under Rules of the Govt. of Assam.

Educational Qualification:-
  • A Master’s Degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.
  • Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. [A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided for the SC/ST/ differently-abled (Physically and visually) categories.]
HOW TO APPLY :
a. The name of the post applied for should be clearly written in “bold letters” in the Envelope containing the application form.

b. Application form may be obtained by downloading the same from the APSC’s website www.apsc.nic.in.

c. The last date of receiving duly filled up application form in the Commission’s office is fixed on 27/06/2017 during office hours.

d. Applications (including applications received through post) received after the last date fixed for receipt shall not be entertained.

e. Only applications which are signed by the candidates and accompanied by all particulars as called for in the application form prescribed by the Commission only shall be considered and candidates fulfilling all the terms of the advertisement of the respective posts shall be called for a Screening test / Viva-voce interview where necessary as decided by the Commission.

f. The Commission shall in no way be responsible in the event of any candidate after appointment is not released by the concerned authority to enable him/her to join the new post.

Since the practice of furnishing attested copies of certificates/mark sheets etc. by competent authority has been discontinued by the Govt., the applicant shall furnish copies of certificate/mark sheet etc. declared by himself/herself as certified to be true copy of the original along with the application.

c. In case of detection of any false declaration / statement made by any applicant, his/her application will be rejected and will also be penalized as per Rules/Law. Self attested photocopies of Certificate / Mark Sheet from HSLC onwards and also Caste Certificate / Registration Certificate / Experience Certificate (where necessary) should be furnished invariably and should be tagged properly without any chance of getting lost during transit. The Commission will not be responsible for any such loss due to improper tagging.

d. Incomplete application in terms of the advertisement shall be summarily rejected. No Documents will be entertained after the last date of submission of application.

WRITTEN TEST / INTERVIEW:
If the number of applications received is large, the

i. Commission may short-list the number of candidates either on the basis of their marks obtained in the qualifying academic examination required for the post in terms of advertisement. -OR

ii. By holding Screening test (Multiple choice objective type written examination) which will be notified in due course.
