Forest Department Assam Recruitment Constable for Special Tiger Protection Force

Applications are invited from eligible candidates of permanent resident of the districts of Nagaon, Golaghat, Sonitpur, Biswanath and Karbi Anglong for the post of Constable under newly created Special Tiger Protection Force (Special Rhino Protection Force - SRPF) for Kaziranga Tiger Reserve (KTR), as per the guidelines issued by National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), Govt. of India, New Delh. The recruitment process shall be conducted only at Bokakhat, Golaghat District as detailed below:


  • Name of post: Constable  in Special Rhino Protection Force- (SRPF)

  • No of posts :  90 posts [UR - 46, OBC/MOBC — 24, ST(P) — 9, ST(H) — 5, SC - 6]

  • Place of Posting : To be deployed only in Kaziranga Tiger Reserve (KTR).

  • Pay: Pay Band-2 - Rs.14,000 - to Rs.49,000/ -with Grade Pay of Rs. 5,600/-P.M. plus other allowances as admissible under the Rules.

  • Education qualification: HSLC or Class X passed from a recognised Board.

  • Age : 18 to 25 years as on 1st January of 2017 (that is, the candidate must be born on or before 01.01.1999 and after 01.01.1992. Relaxation of upper age limit by, 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to SC, ST(P) and ST(H) candidates.




Note: The date of birth accepted by the Forest Department will be as per Birth certificate issued by competent authority or date of birth entered in the matriculation or an equivalent examination certificate issued by a recognised board. No other document relating to age such as horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from Municipal Corporation, services records and the like will be accepted.

        Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respect will have to undergo The Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET). If any candidate is found to have any physical deformity to be detected by the Medical Officer present in the Selection Board, he/she will be debarred from participating in the other tests. Marks for PET will be awarded for the PETs in the manner shown below:

Medical Standards: Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot or squint in eyes, and they  should possess high color vision. Varicose vein shall be considered a temporary disqualification.They must be in good mental, and bodily health and must be free from any physical deformities
and free from diseases such as diabetes, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases or any other ailment that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
Application Fee: An application fee of Rs.250/ for General Candidates, Rs.150/- for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidates, and NIL for BPL candidates (BPL Card holders only, Ration Cards not acceptable). The fee is to be paid online during the form submission.



Documents, Testimonials/Caste Certificate, etc. are to be uploaded with the application form. However, when the candidate reports at the venue on the date and time for Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test, he/she must bring all essential documents in original along with one set of attested photocopies of the same. Any incorrect information or material submitted which is not genuine may disqualify a candidate at any stage and may also render him liable to criminal prosecution. Original documents of an applicant may be put to check at any later stage of the recruitment process also.


How to Apply : Only online applications shall be acceptable, from 10.00 hrs on 5th July, 2017 through the Assam Forest website www.assamforest.in and shall be acceptable upto the midnight of 21st July, 2017.

General Instructions:



  • i. Candidates from the districts of Golagaht, Nagaon, Karbi Anglong, Biswanath and Sonitpur alone would be eligible for recruitment process to be conducted only at Bokakhat, District Golaghat.

  • ii. No TA/DA will be admissible to candidate for the journey and stay during any stage of the recruitment.

  • iii. The select lists confer no right to appointment unless the department is satisfied about suitability of the candidate after a thorough medical examination and such enquiry and verification as may be considered necessary before appointment to the service/posts.

  • iv. Candidate has to appear in all the stages of recruitment. If a candidate is absent from any stage event his her candidature will be cancelled.

  • v. Candidature will be summarily rejected at any stage of the recruitment process for not conforming to the official format/ having incomplete information/ wrong information/ incomplete requisite certificate misrepresentation of facts/ impersonation.

  • vi. The select list will remain valid for appointment from date of announcement of the result for one year or till the date of next advertisement of similar post whichever is earlier.

  • vii. On appointment, the candidate shall be governed by the Assam Force Protection Force Act 1986. and rules and orders of the Government issued from time to time.

  • viii. A selected candidate will be required to join and work only in Kaziranga Tiger Reserve upto the age of 40 years (as per NTCA Guidelines) or as per the decision of PCCF and HoFF, after which he/ she shall be posted with the existing Assam Forest Protection Force (AFPF) Battalions in any district or Unit any where in the state of Assam, upto the age of superannuation.

  • ix. Appointed person shall be entitled to pension benefits as per the pension scheme existing at the time of appointment.

  • x . Selected candidates shall be required to undergo basic training at place and time decided by the Competent authority. They will be on probation for a period of one year which may be extended if required. Any candidate who fails to complete the training or is found unsuitable for the job in any manner during the period of probation will be discharged from service.

  • xi. The PCCF and HoFF Assam reserves the right to make changes or cancel or postpone the recruitment process.

  • xii. The physical tests are strenuous and candidates who are in proper medical condition only should take the tests. Assam Forest will not be liable for any injury or casualty suffered by a candidate during the tests due to any pre-existing medical condition.

  • xiii. Fake documents/false information/misrepresentation of facts shall lead to rejection when detected at any stage before or after selection/appointment and shall make the candidate liable to criminal proceeding.

  • xiv. Appointees will have to sign an agreement whereby he/she will be required to serve in Kaziranga Tiger Reserve, at least till he attains the age of 40 (forty) years, and on default shall have to refund the cost of training and are traveling expenses paid by the Government.
