Assam Secretariat Recruitment of Computer Operators August 2017 : Online applications are invited from citizens of India as defined in the Constitution of India having registration in Employment Exchanges in the State of Assam for recruitment of Computer Operators for the Assam Secretariat, Government of Assam, Janata Bhawan, Dispur, Guwahati-781006 in the Scale of Pay of PB 14000.49000 + Grade Pay 6200/- plus other allowances as admissible under Rules.

Vacancies:- Total = 167



  • (a) English Language Computer Operator = 114

  • (b) Assamese Language Computer Operator = 53


The applicant shall have to clearly state in the application the post of Computer Operator they are applying for — Assamese Language Computer Operator or English Language Computer Operator.

Reservation:-

  • (i) ST(P) = 19

  • (ii) ST(H) = 09

  • (iii) SC = 08

  • (iv) OBC/MOBC = 32

  • (v) Unreserved = 91

  • (vi) PwD = 08

  • (vii) Reservation for Women = 30% (in all categories)

Educational qualifications:



  • (a) The minimum educational qualification of the candidates shall be a graduate in Ms, Science or Commerce from a University recognized by the State Government or a degree equivalent thereto and recognized by the Government.

  • (b) The candidates must also possess a minimum 6(six) months Diploma/Certificate In Computer proficiency from a recognized Institute.


Age: The candidate should not be less than '18 years and more than 43 years of age on the 1st day of January, 2017 The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC and ST candidates. The age limit of the candidates will be calculated on the basis of the Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/Certificate Issued by a recognized Board/Council and no other document shall be accepted in lieu thereof for the purpose.

Application fees : The candidates will have to pay the application fees as follows

Category : Rate of Application fee

  • (a) General : Rs.250.00 (Rupees two hundred and fifty) only.

  • (b) SC/ST/OBC : Rs.150.00 (Rupees one hunched and fifty) only.

  • (c) Candidates having : Nil. BPL certificate.


The amount may be paid through Treasury Challan to the Head of Account "0070-Other Administrative Services-60-Other Services-800-Other Receipts."

Mode of Selection :


Phase-I:


Candidates whose applications are accepted will be required to appear in a competitive examination to be held at examination zones mentioned below on the date to be notified later on. The examination will be of 100 marks with Multiple Choice Questions(MCO) for 2 hours duration to be administered through OMR Sheets.

Examination Zone for Phase-I:- Silchar. Diphu, Haflong, Dibrugarh, Jorhat. Majuli, Nagaon, Lakhimpur, Tezpur, Mangaldai, Guwahati, Nalbari, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar and Dhubri. The syllabus of objective type written test shall be as follows:

  • 1. Subject  General English  -   Total marks : 40

  • 2. Computer Theory  - Total marks :40

  • 3.  General Awareness  - Total marks : 20
    Total marks : 100


Phase•II:


Against each vacancy four candidates will be short listed on the basis of the marks obtained in the written test. The short listed candidates shall have to appear in the Computer Proficiency Practical Test to be held centrally in Guwahati alongwith original testimonials Including original copy of Treasury Challan. The total marks for the Computer Proficiency Practical Test will be 100 marks.

Educational Qualification :-

**A relaxation of 5% Marks may be provided for the SC/ST/Differently-abled (Physically and Visually)categories.
HOW TO FILL UP THE FORM :
a. Applicants must affix 1 (One) copy of recent photograph on the space provided in the application form firmly with good quality glue/adhesive and also should enclose another copy along with the application. The photograph must be signed prominently. The Commission shall not be responsible for detachment/ loss of the photograph.

b. Since the practice of furnishing attested copies of certificates/mark sheets etc. by competent authority has been discontinued by the Govt., the applicant shall furnish copies of certificate/mark sheet etc. declared by himself/herself as certified to be true copy of the original along with the application.

c. In case of detection of any false declaration / statement made by any applicant, his/her application will be rejected and will also be penalized as per Rules/Law. Self attested photocopies of Certificate / Mark Sheet from HSLC onwards and also Caste Certificate / Registration Certificate / Experience Certificate (where necessary) should be furnished invariably and should be tagged properly without any chance of getting lost during transit. The Commission will not be responsible for any such loss due to improper tagging.

d. Incomplete application in terms of the advertisement shall be summarily rejected. No Documents will be entertained after the last date of submission of application.

WRITTEN TEST / INTERVIEW:
If the number of applications received is large, the

i. Commission may short-list the number of candidates either on the basis of their marks obtained in the qualifying academic examination required for the post in terms of advertisement. -OR

ii. By holding Screening test (Multiple choice objective type written examination) which will be notified in due course.

The list of candidates whose applications are found valid or rejected after scrutiny will be made available in the Assam Public Service Commission’s website (www.apsc.nic.in) showing grounds of rejections in due course. The Advertisement is issued on the basis of draft advertisement sent by the Government.

Applications are invited in the standard from of application published in Secheodule-IX of the Assam Gazette from the citizen of India who are inclined to serve for Agriculture Development in the rural areas of Assam, or appointment to the post of VLEW in the scale of pay of Rs. 5200-20,200/- plus Grade pay of Rs. 2400/- under pay band -2 plus other allowances as admissible.

The last date for submission of application to the respective District ‘Agricultural Officer, one month from the date of public advertisement. The total no of vacancies are to be filled up are 663 and. the category wise break up of Posts are given below.

A person claiming benefit of rural background is required to submit rural background certificate from the’concerned competent authority specified at Schedule -H.
