Qualifications: M.A. or M.Sc. in Social Science or related subject from a reputed University in India or abroad. Experience For Manas National Park, Assam: At least one year work experience on social issues related to biodiversity conservation in the state of Assam is needed.

Manas National Park, Assam: Be responsible for effective liaison with stakeholders including government department(s), institution(s), NGOs and CBOs for any issues pertaining to strengthening WWF India’s work with communities in TraMCA. Strategize objectives and activities for strengthening community engagement in different parts of TraMCA with special reference to managing human – wildlife conflict, combating poaching and curbing habitat loss and habitat degradation due to encroachments on forest land. Carrying out field surveys, data collection, analysis and report preparation, together with partner NGOs and government agencies whenever required. Facilitate implementation of project activities monitoring and evaluation to demonstrate impact of community engagement in conservation.

Member Secretary Position in Central Zoo Authority, Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, New Delhi

Central Zoo Authority is a statutory body constituted by the Central Governmen(Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change), under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, as amended from time to time to oversee and monitor the management of zoos in the country and to ensure their development on scientific lines. Member Secretary would be the Chief Executive Officer of this Authority. Applications are invited for the post of Member Secretary, Central Zoo Authority, Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, New Delhi, in the HAG, Scale of Rs. 67000 - 79000. Plus usual allowances as admissible under the Central Government Rules. The Member Secretary will have the option either to avail the leawd accommodation as provided by the Authority or draw HRA as admissible. The minimum qualifications for the post are as follows:-
( A ) Qualifications : Essential:
  • (1) Master's degree in Zoology or Wild life Biology or Veterinary Science of a recognized University or equivalent, with at least 18 years regular service rendered after appointment in Group 'N post, OR 
  • (2) Ph.D in one of the subjects mentioned above with at least 15 years regular service in a Group 'A' post rendered after obtaining Ph.D degree: OR 
  • (3) Indian Forest Service Officers serving as a Conservator of Forests or in an equivalent rank having 18 years regular service with reference to year of allotment. Out of the service indicated at (1), (2) and (3) above, the candidate must have at least 3 years experience as whole time Director/Officer-in-charge of a Zoo. Desirable: Experience in formulation of policies and programme on matters relating to wildlife conservation.
( B) Age Limit: The officer under consideration should have a minimum of three years of service left before superamuation.
(C) Method of Recruitment: Deputation basis.
(D) Place of Posting: New Delhi, but liable to be posted anywhere in India subject to exigencies of work. (E) General Conditions: (1) Application should be sent either in Hindi or English. (2) Application should be accompanied by copies of certificates of educational qualifications, experience, the original certificates should not be attached with the application at this stage. (3) The applications should be submitted through proper channel, together with a certificate as in Annexure. The applicant may, if he so wished, send one advance copy of the application in the prescribed form, complete in all respect, by the due date (4) Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid to and fro fare by the shortest route and entitled class (5) Applications received after the due date, unsigned applications, incomplete applications and applications not in prescribed profoima will not be considered. (6) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification. (7) Applications should be sent in the enclosed proforma (neatly handwntten or typed out in A-4 size paper). (8) Please affix one passport size photograph duly signed by the candidate. Candidates must send self addressed envelope (12cm x 20crn) and self addressed post card along with the application.
