Department of Forest, Govt of Assam Recruitment Notice 2017 for GIS Expert,Data Entry
  • Operator ,MTS,Driver : The Walk-In-Interview for selection of the following posts in office of the PCCF & HoFF, Assam.
  • GIS Expert (1 No.)
  • Data Entry Operator (1 No.)
  • MTS (Office Assistant) (1 No.)
  • Driver (1 No.)
Positions are on contractual basis under Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA), Assam.
Date of Interview : Interview shall be held on 4th July at 11 A. M. onwards in the office of the PCCF & HoFF, Assam.
The assignment shall be purely temporary in nature and shall be initially for one year with a provision for further extension based on satisfactory performance as determined by the PCCF (Planning/ CAMPA), 0/0 the PCCF & HoFF, Assam.

Salary Details :
  • The GIS Expert : Fixed monthly Rs. 26,000/-
  • Data Entry Operator : Fixed monthly Rs.18,500/-
  • MTS (Office Assistant) : Fixed monthly Rs.7,200/-
  • Driver : Fixed monthly Rs. 10,500/-
It will be mutually negotiable :

1. Minimum qualifications for GIS Expert:
  • i. Master Degree in Geo-informatics/Geography/Forestry/Environmental Science from a recognized University.
  • ii. Course work (Diploma/Certificate course) in GIS or related field.
  • iii. Should have profiency in working with GPS and GIS software, including ESRI products like ArcView. ArcTool. ArcCatalog) and ERDAS.
  • iv. A minimum of 3 (three) years of experiences of working on GIS environment.
  • v. Forestry. Agriculture related expenenced professional will be preferred.
The job responsibilities of the GIS Expert:
  • (i) The GIS professional shall support CAMPA in the design and develop a database, perform map edit task and preparation of polygon.
  • (ii) Uploading developed database in e-Green watch portal and Its integration with FC Clearances/data updation in Wildlife wing.
  • (iii) Have to travel frequently in the forest divisions/Protected areas of Assam for collection and verification of data and collection of visuals to upload in portal.
  • (iv)Interaction with FSI and NIC, MoEF and other related agencies.
2. Minimum qualifications for Data Entry Operator:
  • i. Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/College.
  • ii. 6 (Six) months certificate course In computer. (Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel. Power Point Presentation etc.)
  • iii. Minimum 6 months of work experience.
  • iv. Persons working with office or similar organization/Forest Deptt. will be preferred.
The Job responsibilities of the Data Entry Operator:
  • i. Generation of reports and update information on CAMPA activities
  • ii. Interaction with Divisions and collection of information.
  • iii. Compilation of UCs/ Progress Reports & preparation of APOs.
  • iv. Attending the tasks assigned by PCCF/CF,CAMPA.
3. Minimum qualifications for MTS (Office Assistant) :
  • i. H. S. S. L. C. or equivalent passed from recognized board.
  • ii. Minimum 6 months work experience in office/Forest Deptt. or similar organization will be preferred.
The Job responsibilities of the MTS (Office Assistant):
  • i. Attending files and other documents from various desks
  • ii. To attend the duty with PCCF/CF
  • iii. Issue and Dispatch
  • iv. To attend Banks and other offices as and when directed.
4. Minimum qualifications for Driver :
  • i. H. S. L. C. or equivalent passed from recognized board.
  • ii. Valid driving license from competent authority.
Weightage & preference will be given to the persons who are having experience in working with the Forest Department and well versed with day to day functioning of Forest Directorate. Any other certificate/ work experience will be considered as an additional qualification. The candidates possessing the above qualification are requested to appear before the Committee constituted for this purpose with Bio-Data, two passport size photographs and one set of photocopies of all certificates along with Standard Application Form to the PCCF (Planning/CAMPA), 0/o the PCCF & HoFF, Assam, Panjabari, Guwahati-37.
The candidates are required to bring all original certificates at the time of Walk-in-Interview.
