Health & Family Welfare Department ,Govt. of Assam Recruitment Notice June, 2017 for
Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent : Application in standard form as published in Assam Gazette in Appendix—XI are invited from amongst the Faculty members serving in the rank of Professors in Medical Colleges of Assam under Health & Family Welfare (B) Department for recruitment to the vacant posts of Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent of Medical Colleges of the state of Assam under Health & Family Welfare (B) Department as per the provision of Rule 12(3) of the Assam Medical Education Service Rules, 2008 as indicated below:
  • Name of the Post : Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent.
    No. of Vacancy : 3 (three).
    Category : OBC / MOBC -2 ,  UR -1.
  • Scale of Pay: Rs.37,400/- 67,000/- PM. with G.P. of Rs.10000/ – plus other allowances as admissible under Rules. Educational.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
  • 1. Recognized Post Graduate Medical Degree from recognized Institution as per MCI norms.
  • 2. The candidate should be in the rank of Professor (Selection Grade).
  • 3. Additional Director of Medical Education, Assam only on completion of 10 years of service and teaching experience in the rank of Associate Professor and Professor out of which 5 years should be as Professor (including Vice-Principal), provided the Governor is satisfied about his/ her ability, integrity, and character.
Other conditions:
  • 1. Appointment of reserved category candidates will be made as per existing reservation policy of Govt.
  • 2. There shall be 30% reservation for women candidate out of existing percentage of reservation of post earmarked for STP, STH and SC wherever it is applicable subject to fulfillment of other criteria.
  • 3.There shall be reservation for physically Handicapped candidates as per existing rules.
All intending doctors are to submit their application in Standard application Form with photocopies of all testimonials to the Director of Medical Education, Assam, latest by 30.6.2017 till 5 P.M. in the box provided in the Office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam, Sixmile, Khanapara, Guwahati-22.

  • 1) Academic History (State Examination/Board/ University), Division Position, Honours, Percentage etc,
  • 2) Service History (name of the post, period, Medical Colleges).
  • 3) Responsibility/ Administrative post entrusted by Government (mention duration).
  • 4) Administrative Experience (name, duration, nature of duties).
  • 5) Position held in International/ National bodies/Organisation (mention duration).
  • 6) Representing State/ Country in International/ National assignments (mention duration)
  • 7) Award, honours in different fields.
  • 8) Membership/ Position/ nominated/ elected to Central/ State Government bodies of professional association.
  • 9) Publications.
  • 10) Research/ Guide experience
  • 11) Extra Curricular activities.
  • 12) Any other information which candidate wants to provide.
